About

Mission: To empower, protect, and heal victims of child abuse. The Children's Advocacy Center of Independence County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that was established in 2017 and began serving children in November 2018. The center is the 17th CAC in the state of Arkansas and provides coverage for Independence, Izard, Stone, Sharp, and Fulton counties. Child Advocacy Centers were formed to decrease trauma in child abuse victims and increase prosecution success. Through a multidisciplinary team approach, all agencies involved in the case can work together to provide the child and family with a more child centered approach to cases. Any child abuse allegation that is called into the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline or local law enforcement can be brought to the CAC, so the staff can provide services alongside the investigative agency. The agency is funded through community support, grants, and foundation support. All services are free to children and families
